So apparently it's time for me to do an update. I keep thinking lately of stuff to write about but whenever I come to sit down and write it I can never be bothered.
Today was fun, it took me a bit over two hours to get to work. Not long in front of me a lorry had jackknifed and was blocking the road. It was particularly annoying as I needed to sort something out at work. After about an hour, realising this was getting quite serious I got my laptop out and ended up sending an email from my phone to try and sort out the problem. I wish I could fix my laptop to use my phone as a modem, as I then could have used the laptop in the car and got on the internet. I heard on the radio that the police had closed the road behind me, so I was stuck between a lorry blocking all three lanes and the police doing the same. Joy. Eventually my time waiting came to an end. The police were slowly turning us all around, and having us drive up the carriageway in the wrong direction, and then turning off at the last junction back. It was quite exciting driving up the wrong way of a major road like that. I then got to work by just after 12 where stuff went wrong, problems were found with things, and something I needed hadn't arrived yet. I then left earlier than normal for other reasons. What a productive day. I took a picture of the fun on the A3.
As you can see... Fun. The massive gap in the middle of the road came from the emergency services trying to get through. I was hoping for a picture of people doing three point turns on the A3, but by the time they were close enough for my useless phone camera to really be able to make anything out, I was being shouted at by the police to get back in my car.
In other news, my favourite guitar has got a bit broken. I broke a string the other week, nothing unusual, they were old strings. So I got new strings, put them on all excited, and I got some fret buzz/rattle which was really pissing me off. It was too much to ignore. I then got a bit messed about by the shop I got it from, after being told on the phone it would be no problem and he could fix it in three minutes for free (it's out of warranty) I turned up the next day with a smile on my face and was told they can't do it on that day, I'll need to leave it with them next week, and it'll cost at least £15. I wasn't happy. I then tried to fix it a bit by raising up the bridge, but that didn't seem to do it, only lessen it slightly. I've now taken it to the shop in Guildford (given up on the other place), but the guitar technician guy didn't seem to really think it was serious enough to be a problem. With hindsight I should have put it back properly after my attempt at fixing it. It's now going to be about a week and a half, and the guitar man didn't really seem that sure he could do much. I'm quite scared it'll either not get fixed, or not really feel the same anymore. I'm a bit sad, as I loved it so.
Oh finally, while looking for news about this crash this morning I stumbled across an article explaining that "Guildford is the most dangerous place to drive in Surrey. Almost one in five out of the 64 fatal accidents in the past year took place in Guildford." More impressive though was the second worst... I quote, "the second highest death rate was in Woking borough, where there were eight fatal collisions". So that's good. The town (city?) where I learnt to drive (and passed by test!) is the worst place in Surrey, followed by the place I then spent the my few years of driving. What doesn't kill you... I guess.

I've been thinking for a while that I want to do more outdoor-sey type things. So I've signed up to do the Woking Bikeathon, a 14 mile excursion on my bike which hasn't been used in years.
It's a sponsored thing, with money raised going to Leukemia research... So if you could dig deep into your uh, credit cards, and spare me some change for the greater good, that would make me happy. Here's a little flash thing:
Thanks!

It's snowing! After going to bed at gone 3am and waking up at 8:30, I wasn't best pleased. As I often do, I put the radio on to fall asleep again with. I soon heard them say snow is falling all over London, and there's been accidents on the roads and stuff. I thought it can't be that bad... Looked out the window, and couldn't believe it! So I popped outside with my camera and took a few pics. Here's a pic from the front door.

I then was gonna pop out, and this happened when I opened the door:

Not best pleased about this... I pretty much just had to sit in it. :(
The reason I was going out, was to get petrol. I've discovered this website, petrolprices.com. You have to sign up, which I begrudgingly did. It seems worth it though. It told me there was a Texaco just out the back of Kingston that was selling petrol for 102.9p per litre. I needed some, so I thought I'd chance it. Failing that on the same road there was some for 103.9p so that was my backup plan. I was a little sceptical, but headed over there and sure enough went past the 103.9p one, and my faith in this site grew. I actually struggled to find the 102.9p one, ironically wasting petrol driving around. I found myself on this lovely little road just wide enough for two cars, right next to the Thames without any fence or barrier stopping you driving in. It was quite lovely actually. I saw more swans and people in boats. There was a lot of people running too. Did they not see it was snowing? Anyway, I eventually (somewhat by accident) found this petrol garage I was looking for and it was actually 103.9p, so I really could have stopped at the one down the road, but never mind. Still cheaper than anywhere else I'd seen it. The moral of the story, I would recommend people use this website for finding cheap fuel in your area, but it may be a penny out. (What a crap moral... It wasn't even a moral).
I really need to get some more sleep. After the excitement of the snow, I didn't get back into bed. :(
