Song: Morrisey - My Life Is A Succession Of People Saying Goodbye

Just out of curiosity, who's my reader who works at Mouchelle Parkman? (Did I spell that right?).

I'm not paranoid, no *ahem*. Just curious...

Song: System Administrator Appreciation Day

I found out today that "System Administrator Appreciation Day" falls on the same day as my birthday this year. Awesome.

Shame I'm not doing sys admin stuff. Though I do know some people who are. Maybe I should bake them a cake!

Just had a call from my mum. My exam results have arrived.

I got 1 A+, 1 A, 3 A-, 1 B, 1 B-, and 1 C.

General feeling: pleased.

Now it's time for lunch.

Song: No Use For A Name - Solitaire

I've not written much on here lately... so thought I'd do something. I see Sarah keeps looking at this (Hi Sarah!) though pretty much everyone else seems to've abandoned me. :(

I expect actually that this site'll get fewer updates as time goes on. Now I'm working full time I've noticed that I'm spending less time sat here doing nothing special. If anything special comes up I'm sure I'll still blabber on about it, but other than that, I don't think there'll be so much.

I need a car. I've also noticed that when I don't drive much I get more scared of roads. So to conclude, I need a car, and I need to drive it more to get confidence up. Stupid ego driven car people who think they're better than the average driver need not respond.

I've run out of things to say again... this is poor.

Song: Catatonia - Godspeed

Heh... someone's description of the internet. It seemed share-worthy:

I look at it as the worlds biggest WHSmith... Mostly dull and cold atmosphere with the odd exception of a mag or book you want to read... A vast majorty of it is twiddling thumbs imo... Has been a spot on asset at times, and a great burden at others.

Song: Fightstar - Paint Your Target

I'm so tired. Been so long since I've had a regular schedule. Last night I wanted to go to bed at about 10:30, and it was at about 10:15 that I learnt we had a guest. Someone my brother works with was here. So that pushed me back to about 11. Nevermind though, but then brother decides to announce he wants a bath. The bathroom and my room share a wall, and the bath is on that wall, so I can always hear people filling up the bath. But anyway, I'm half comatosed and get into bed. Decided to put some calm music on to fall asleep too, figuring it'll stop before anyone else goes to bed and was quiet anyway. So I set up this queue to play, ending on a song that is number 2,315, the end of the list (at which point it stops playing). To explain, my MP3 player's playlist has 2,315 songs in it at the moment, and I don't ever want to clear the list, so I set up a queue, telling it what song to play next, what song after that, etc. So I set up this queue in my half asleep state and get into bed, and soon fell asleep. Then at some time in the early hours I remember waking up, and hearing my music? "wtf?", I think.. and sort of collapse back to sleep. I *think* this happened another time, too... Then at 4:30 ish I am awake again, now Lacuna Coil are playing. This time I force myself out of bed and just turn my speakers off. By this point I'd managed to figure out that what I'd done was left it on random. So... it had succesfully played through my queue as expected, but hadn't stopped at 2,315, as that was no longer the end. Anyway, by the morning it had finished going round, so I guess now my audioscrobbler page is incorrect by one of every song. Tragic... That wasn't a very good story, I apologise.

So the other day I found this and I was thinking about it again and thought I'd share. It's a satellite image of where I work. Looks pretty cool, I think. It's literally surrounded by trees. Reminds me slightly of the Centre Parcs places. The grass bit in the middle is really nice too, as the restaurant in the middle building (where I am) backs onto it and there's a patio and stuff where you can sit and eat lunch when the weather's nice.

Anyway... I'm tired.

Song: Scissor Sisters - Take Your Mama

In my moment of excitement, I actually made a mistake. The quiz, treasure hunt, tug of war, team challenge and volleyball are next week. :)

I've informally said (I think) I'll partake in the quiz, treasure hunt and team challenge. Got to try and get myself onto a team though. That's the hard bit.

Song: Busted - Why

My TV was on for approx 11 hours today, in one go. Quite possibly the longest it's ever done. I did of course watch Live 8. No, I didn't sit in front of the TV solidly for 11 hours, but I did have it on as backgroud noise (sometimes only background light and heat, actually).

Anyway, I got a bit annoyed with it. The only people who I really wanted to see where Joss Stone, Scissor Sisters, and Robbie Williams. The Daily Mail had a little setlist type thing of who was on and when, and said Joss was on at 6:20. At some amount of minutes past 7, Snow Patrol came on who were listed as being on before Joss. They were far behind schedule, and I was getting annoyed, but finally it seemed we were there. And then... what's this, The Killers?! Frantically run around and find the paper and see that The Killers were four acts down the list. After Velvet Revolver, who were after Scissor Sisters, after Joss. So I was *very* annoyed. Had I sat here for over 6 hours waiting for Joss and the Scissor Sisters only to find they've been taken off, presumably to catch up with the time as they were so far behind? Not very pleased, put TV back on mute and waited to see what happened. Thankfully, after The Killers an introduction began about a young girl with a big voice or whatever. Aha! Finally, she's here. And then I was happy again.

Joss Stone came and did her three songs. Frankly looked like the crowd weren't really too interested. But to be fair, I got the feeling with all (but a handful) couldn't get much out of the crowd. Presumably because of the huge gap between crowd and stage, and maybe even the sheer size of the place. Anyway, it wasn't bad given the circumstances. I don't like the way she's wearing very short dresses these days. I always loved those long, loose skirts she wore; they seemed to suit her body and hair a lot more, I thought. But, I doubt anyone reading this really cares about my thoughts on Joss Stone's wardrobe.

So then I was left waiting, hoping, for the Scissor Sisters (am I supposed to capitalise the 'T' on the "the"? (hey look at the single/double quote mark usage. Programming habbits coming through in my blog)). Thankfully, they came out next. Again, I thought they were doing well, but they seemed a bit lost in the size of it all. I get the feeling they'd do a lot better playing at a small-ish place in Brighton filled with gays, and drag queens and kings. None the less, they did their thing. Their guitarist had some corset type thing on which I thought was pretty cool, though not so fond of the colours. Anyway... I'm going back to the wardrobe.

By this point I figured I might as well just leave it on and see the end. Again, it was just in the background, often on mute. I did eventually see Robbie, which was exactly as I expected. His usual natural charisma and charm seemed to come through, and got everyone singing Angels as expected. I then missed all the old timers that were on at the end as it was on mute and I was doing other stuff, nevermind.

So uh, that's basically been my afternoon. Found out that "Cheer Up" by David Ford is really easy to play on guitar, so am now just trying to learn the lyrics. Saw him last night at Barfly, and he was superb as expected. Hopefully will be seeing more of him in the future, also quite looking forward to the album.

Anyway, that's all for now, I think.

*Edit* Also remembered I wanted to see Dido, and did. She did pretty well I thought. I still think it's funny that she sounds like a bit of a pikey when she talks, yet looks really pretty and sings really pleasantly.
